INDONESIAN NATIONAL TEAM IS PREPARING FOR THE ASIAN GAMES AT THE TRAINING CAMP IN RUSSIA
Indonesian national SAMBO team is preparing for the Asian Games at an international training camp in Russia. On July 16, the athletes arrived in the city of Artyom, where they will be honing their skills along with the local sambists for the following four weeks.
The international SAMBO training camp is organized by the efforts of the president of the "Master" sports club, the president of the municipal SAMBO Federation of Artyom Alexei Pisarenko, with the support of the International SAMBO Federation. This camp is the main stage in the preparation of Indonesia's sambists for the 2018 Asian Games that will be held in Indonesia. The SAMBO tournament within the Games’ program will take place in Jakarta from August 31 to September 1.
‘Such training camp gives an invaluable experience that can only be gained at the citadel of SAMBO, in Russia,’ claimed Antonius Jimmy, the coach of the Indonesian team.
The manager of the national team of Indonesia Muhamad Riyad highly appreciated the significance of the training camp, too. Athletes Imam Maulana Muttaqin and Maria Magdalena Ince remarked that they were very happy for the chance to practice alongside the masters of Russian SAMBO.
The FIAS Sports Director Dmitry Maksimov took on the role of the invited instructor at the camp. His master classes aroused great interest both from Indonesian athletes and experienced Russian sambists.
Dmitry Maksimov presented Alexey Pisarenko with a letter of acknowledgement on behalf of the FIAS President Vasily Shestakov, for the excellent organization of the international camp and the reception of the Indonesian delegation.
‘We hope that the experience gained within the walls of the “Master” sports club would allow our Indonesian colleagues to fulfil their full potential at the upcoming Asian forum,’ said Alexey Pisarenko.
